Biography: Mergers and Acquisitions

Pamela S Seymon is a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where she has practiced since 1982, focusing primarily in the area of mergers and acquisitions. She has represented corporations on offence as well as defence, in both friendly and unsolicited transactions. She has represented clients engaged in some of the most notable transactions over the years, including MCA Inc in its sale to Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd; QVC Inc in its unsolicited bid for Paramount Communications Inc; HSN Inc (which then became USA Networks Inc) in the acquisition of USA Networks and the domestic television business of Universal Studios and, thereafter, USA Networks, Inc (which then became USA Interactive) in the contribution of its entertainment assets to Vivendi Universal Entertainment.

Ms Seymon also represented CSX Corporation in its acquisition of Conrail, the special committee of the board of directors of Delhaize America in the sale to Delhaize Group and, most recently, USA Interactive in its purchases of Ticketmaster, Expedia and Hotels.com.

As well as featuring in this publication Ms Seymon was featured in The American Lawyer's "45 Under 45 - Forty-five young lawyers who are making their mark today and will lead the profession tomorrow". She has served on the committee on securities regulation of the New York City Bar Association and as a member of the board of trustees for New York University School of Law.

Ms Seymon graduated from Wellesley College as a Wellesley scholar and from New York University School of Law.
