Biography: Environment

Lawrence P Schnapf is an environmental attorney at Schulte Roth & Zabel International LLP, with nearly 25 years of national environmental experience. Larry's practice concentrates on environmental issues associated with corporate, real estate and brownfield transactions as well as commercial lending and securitisations. He has extensive experience with brownfield redevelopment, negotiating cleanup agreements, performing environmental due diligence for complex business transactions and environmental compliance counseling and cost recovery.

He has also written numerous articles on environmental law, is the author of Managing Environmental Liability in Transactions and Brownfield Redevelopment published by JurisLaw Publishing and also publishes a bi-monthly The Schnapf Environmental Journal. Larry is also a contributing author for Brownfield Practice and Law: The Cleanup and Redevelopment of Contaminated Properties and Environmental Law Practice Guide published by Matthew Bender.

Larry is the co-chair of the New York State Bar Association's Hazardous Site Remediation Committee and brownfield task force and chairs the Brownfield Committee of the Environmental Business Association of New York. He is a vice chair of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Committee of the ABA Business Law Section. Larry is also a member of the ASTM 1527, Vapor Intrusion and Continuing Obligations Task Groups.

Larry is an adjunct professor of environmental law at New York Law School where he teaches Environmental Problems in Real Estate and Business Transactions. He is also on the faculty of the Center for Christian Studies at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church where he teaches 'The Bible and the Environment'.
