Glenn R Sarno is a partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and a member of the corporate department. His practice focuses on the representation of domestic and international private equity firms in the formation of a wide variety of private funds, including leveraged buyout, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, education, fund-of-funds, secondary, communications, collaterised debt obligations, healthcare, mezzanine and distressed. He also represents hedge fund sponsors, reviews private fund investments for institutional clients and assists with the ongoing investment activities and operations of private funds. Representative clients include Lehman Brothers, Carlyle, Cypress, Babcock & Brown, Brown Brothers, BlackRock, Citibank, CSFB, ING, Breeden, and Pendragon. Sarno practised in the firm's London office for two years, working on European and Asian fund formation and investments, and has also practised in the firm's mergers and acquisitions group and its capital markets group.

Sarno is a member of the New York Private Investment Fund Forum and the advisory board of the Private Equity CFO Association. He lectures frequently on alternative asset management topics to industry members.

Sarno received his BA summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 1989, where he was a University Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his JD with honours from Duke Law School in 1992, where he was the winner of the Hardt Cup moot court competition and the best judge award in the Dean's Cup competition. Sarno clerked for the Honorable Justice Robert L Clifford, Supreme Court of New Jersey.
