The disputes Andrew has handled include landmark cases in the High Court of Australia in pre-trial discovery and contract; for the advertising industry on trade practice issues; for Unilever in defending claims concerning country of origin labelling; for Arthur Andersen, the auditors of the HIH Insurance Group, following the collapse of the HIH group; for McDonald's, defending class action taken for over 6,000 customers arising out of a claims made about the conduct of an Australian-wide competition.
Andrew has had a particular interest in and exposure to class actions, a recent area of focus in Australian courts.
Andrew was chairman of Baker & McKenzie's Australian offices from 2005 to 2009. He is presently a member of Baker & McKenzie's global professional responsibility and practice committee, which deals with professional responsibility and ethical behaviour.
Andrew has also been a member of the federal civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution working groups of the Australian Law Reform Commission.
