Profile: Mikhail A Rozenberg

Mr Rozenberg's practice has covered a broad range of civil and criminal matters, including representations of numerous well-known individuals and legal entities and provision of legal service to joint ventures and foreign firms. His primary areas of practice include representation of financial institutions and corporations in litigation in Russian and foreign courts and arbitration tribunals, banking and finance, real estate issues (particularly local regulations on ownership and leasing of property), telecommunications, taxation and other commercial areas. He has acted as the lead lawyer for several prominent banks and their establishment of banking operations in Russia, and assisted the first US bank in obtaining a general banking licence in Russia. Mr Rozenberg also has provided significant assistance to international financial organisations on debt restructuring matters and in bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr Rozenberg is the author of numerous articles on Russian law and has recently co-authored a book, Cross-Frontier Insolvency of Insurance Companies, published in London in 2001. Mr Rozenberg was admitted to practise in 1979 and has practised with Chadbourne & Parke since 1990. He has been a patron and tutor with the Moscow City Bar since 1988. He was named by Who's Who in Russia as one of the 10 best lawyers in that country and was also listed in Who's Who in Global Banking and Finance. He is fluent in English and French.
