Mr Roth was named to the HFMWeek annual list of the 50 most influential people in hedge funds. He chairs the subcommittee on hedge funds of the American Bar Association's committee on federal securities regulation, and is a special adviser to the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association. He was formerly chair of the committee on securities regulation of the New York City Bar Association and a member of the NASD's legal advisory board. He is a member of the advisory board of the RAND Center for Corporate Ethics and Governance, the national board of directors of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund Inc, and he is adviser to AIMA on US regulatory issues. He is a past president of the Harvard Law School Alumni Association of New York City and a former member of the Citizens Committee for New York City.
A magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College, Mr Roth graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School and received a Fulbright Fellowship for Study of Law in The Netherlands.
