Paul N Roth is a founding partner of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. He heads the firm's private investment funds practice, an area in which he has 40 years' experience and involves over 90 attorneys and approximately 1,500 hedge funds, private-equity funds and offshore funds. His practice focuses on investment advisers and broker/dealers, cross-border acquisitions to the United States, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, and financial transactions.

Mr Roth chairs the subcommittee on private investment entities of the American Bar Association's Committee on Federal Securities Regulation, and was formerly chair of the Committee on Securities Regulation of the New York City Bar Association and member of the NASD's Legal Advisory Board. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Center on Lawyers and the Professional Services Industry at Harvard Law School; the Task Force on the Undergraduate Experience at Harvard University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences; the Citizens Committee for New York City; and the National Board of Directors of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. He is past president and board member of the Harvard Law School Alumni Association of New York City.

A magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College, Mr Roth graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School and received a Fulbright Fellowship for Study of Law in The Netherlands during 1964 to 1965.
