Biography: Management Labour and Employment

Theodore Rogers joined Sullivan & Cromwell in 1979 and has been a partner of the firm since 1987. He is a graduate of Harvard College (magna cum laude, 1976) and Harvard Law School (cum laude, 1979).

Mr Rogers is the coordinator of the firm's labour and employment law group, and represents employers with respect to all manner of labour and employment issues, including counselling of multi-national clients on cross-border labor and employment matters. He was named one of the two leading labour and employment lawyers in New York in Practical Law Company's PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook 2006 and is one of six lawyers in New York ranked first among defendant-side employment lawyers in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business 2006. He has also been recognised by New York Super Lawyers 2006 and The Best Lawyers in America 2007.

Mr Roger was lead counsel in one of the two consolidated cases, in which New York State's highest court upheld the arbitrability of employment discrimination claims. He is a co-author of West Group's Employment Litigation in New York, and serves as a lecturer on employment law topics to many groups, including the Federal Judicial Center's annual Workshop on Employment Law for Federal Judges. He is a fellow of the College of Labour and Employment Lawyers and is a member of the executive committee of the New York State Bar Association's labour and employment law section as well as the advisory board of the Center for Labor and Employment Law of New York University School of Law.
