Mr Rogers is currently serving his fourth year as general counsel, director and secretary of the Canadian Franchise Association. Prior to that, he served as a director of the supplier forum of the International Franchise Association for six years, from 2000 to 2006. He has served as a contributing editor of the Franchise & Distribution Journal for more than 10 years.
Mr Rogers is ranked by Martindale-Hubbell and has consistently been recommended by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario), Law Society of British Columbia, American Bar Association (associate member), Canadian Franchise Association and International Franchise Association, and has presented papers and lectured for all of these associations.
For seven years in the 1990s, Mr Rogers acted as honorary legal counsel to the Consul General of Mexico in Vancouver. He speaks Spanish at the intermediate level after studying in Mexico.
John Rogers is commander of the Toronto Commandery of the Sovereign Order of St John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller in which he holds the rank of Knight Commander of Grace. He is a also a member of the National Club (Toronto).
