Bill Roedder has focused on products liability for most of the 35 years he has been in practice. He has defended many products in state and federal courts throughout Alabama, including aircraft, vehicles, ATVs, watercraft, agricultural and industrial equipment, medical devices and the like. He also defends class actions, commercial claims, fraud suits and personal injury cases.
He graduated from the University of Alabama (BS, 1968) and from the Cumberland School of Law (JD, cum laude, 1972) where he served on the editorial board of the Law Review. Bill's published articles include 'Contractual Indemnity in Alabama' in the Alabama Law review, an article on the seatbelt defence in the Cumberland Law Review, and an article in the FDCC Quarterly on the federal rules of civil procedure. He speaks frequently on various trial practice topics and is a member of Curia Honoris and the Order of Barristers.
Bill is a member of the Mobile Bar Association, serving as chairman of the ethics committee (1988-90) and on the grievance committee (1994-96), and is a member of the American Bar Association. He is the past president of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (2001-02) and served as chairman of the Federation's board (2002-03). Bill served on the board of directors of the Defense Research Institute Inc (1999-2002). He is a past president of Lawyers for Civil Justice (2006-07) and served on its board of directors. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Who's Who in America.
