Biography: Construction

Stephen H Reisman is the managing partner of Peckar & Abramson's Florida office. He primarily represents contractors and construction managers in the negotiation and preparation of construction documents, and the negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation of construction contract claims, construction and design defect claims, insurance claims and related matters. Mr Reisman's construction law practice also includes project administration assistance for the early identification and resolution of potential conflicts and disputes.

Mr Reisman has litigated and arbitrated cases involving: building-cladding systems; roofing; foundations; reinforced, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete construction; drywall assemblies; masonry; stucco; and many other building systems. He has also litigated and arbitrated delay and impact claims and presented requests for equitable adjustment on public works. Mr Reisman has served as an arbitrator in many construction disputes, including complex and international cases.

Mr Reisman is a member of the Florida Bar and is board certified by the Florida Bar as a construction law specialist. He is also a member of the construction industry forum of the American Bar Association and serves on the panel of arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association.

Mr Reisman has authored articles and conducted seminars on various construction law topics for the Florida Bar, the National Business Institute, the Construction Specifications Institute, the Construction Association of South Florida, the American Arbitration Association and the Associated General Contractors of America.

Mr Reisman has consistently been recognised by Chambers USA – America's Leading Lawyers for Business as one of the top construction lawyers in Florida.

Mr Reisman is a graduate of Emory University and of the University of Miami School of Law.
