Dr Thomas W Reimann is a senior founding partner of Reimann Osterrieth Köhler Haft, a law firm specialised in litigation, arbitration and counselling exclusively in the field of intellectual property, with an extensive litigation practice at all relevant national courts, the German and the European Patent Office as well as the European Court of Justice.

For more than 35 years he has been advising and acting on behalf of clients across the complete spectrum of intellectual property matters. Thomas W Reimann and his team represent many major and global clients in the telecommunications, electronics, automotive, pharmaceuticals, chemical and other industries. He has practised for more than 35 years before the Court of Appeals in Düsseldorf, which is renowned for its landmark decisions – many of which were appealed to the Federal Supreme Court. He has participated in a significant number of these landmark cases, which have greatly influenced the law and enforcement of intellectual property rights in Germany.

Thomas W Reimann is particularly experienced in planning and coordinating cross-border litigation and other multi-jurisdictional cases. He knows the needs of large multi-jurisdictional corporations, as well as those of small and medium-sized businesses. Working with international colleagues from the US, the UK, Japan and other parts of the world has become second nature to him. He also acts as an arbitrator and expert witness on questions of German IP law.

He is co-author of various books and articles on intellectual property law and is a frequent speaker at international conferences regarding patent law, especially multinational patent litigation. Thomas W Reimann is member of AIPPI, AIPLA, EPLA, GRUR, IPO, LES and VPP.

Between 1993 and 2008 he was chairman of the committee on patents and utility models of GRUR, the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law.

He has practised for more than 30 years before the Court of Appeals in Düsseldorf, which is renowned for its landmark decisions – many of which were appealed to the Federal Supreme Court. Mr Reiman has participated in a significant number of these landmark cases, which have greatly influenced the law and enforcement of intellectual property rights in Germany.
