Biography: Competition

Phil Proger oversees Jones Day's antitrust and competition law practice. He practises antitrust law with emphasis on matters before US and international enforcement agencies, including mergers and cartel investigations, as well as antitrust litigation.

Phil recently served as a member of the board of governors of the American Bar Association (2003 to 2006) and was the 1998 to 1999 chair of the section of antitrust law of the ABA. He is a member of The American Law Institute, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a member of the advisory boards of BNA Antitrust & Trade Regulation Report and The M&A Lawyer. He also serves on the board of visitors of the University of Maryland School of Law.

Phil regularly writes and lectures on antitrust subjects. He is listed in numerous publications recognising leading antitrust lawyers in the US and the world, including The Best Lawyers in America, The International Who's Who, and PLC Which lawyer?, and in 2006 was named to the BTI "Client Service All-Star List".
