Biography: Regulatory Communications

Stephan Polster is partner and head of the firm's competition, telecommunications and energy law desk. His competition law practice covers the representation of domestic and international clients on all aspects of Austrian and European competition law (merger control, antitrust and state aid cases). In telecoms and energy law, Stephan Polster advises on all kinds of regulatory matters and assists clients in the drafting of sector specific contracts as well as in M&A transactions in the telecoms and energy sector.

Stephan Polster graduated from the University of Vienna (Mag iur 1994, Dr iur 1998) and the University of Wolverhampton (MA 1994).

Prior to joining Dorda Brugger Jordis in 1996, he was a trainee at the European Commission, DG Information Society and Media, and had an internship with the Brussels office of the US firm Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. He was admitted to the Austrian Bar in 1999. He is the author of several legal books and commentaries including Das Telekommunikationsrecht der Europäischen Gemeinschaft (Telecommunications Law of the European Community), Kommentar zum TKG 2003 (Commentary on the new Austrian Telecommunications Act 2003), Handbuch Mergers & Acquisitions (2007), Cash Pooling, Praxis, Recht und Steuern (Cash Pooling, Tax and Legal Issues, 2004). He also wrote numerous articles in Austrian and international journals. He regularly lectures at seminars and conferences in Austria and abroad. Stephan Polster is a member of the IBA and AIJA.
