Biography: Real Estate

Martin Polevoy is the chair of the real estate practice group in New York. His practice includes all areas of real estate, including sales, development, leasing, financing, joint ventures, hotels, construction contracts, restructuring and workouts. He represents many well-known national and international owners, developers, domestic and foreign investors, and financial institutions.

Mr Polevoy's practice includes representing the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site; the development of the new HQ for the New York Times Company in Manhattan; the acquisition of Lehman Brothers' Manhattan HQ; acquisition/sale of over 5 million square feet of office buildings for prominent German open-end real estate funds; and national real estate counsel for one of the largest real estate funds in the US.

He has been a frequent speaker in programmes of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the Practising Law Institute and the Anglo-American Real Estate Institute.

Mr Polevoy has been recognised as a leading real estate practitioner in many prominent surveys. He has been named one of the 15 leading real estate lawyers in the world by The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers; an expert in real estate law by the Guide to the World's Leading Real Estate Lawyers; and a leading lawyer in real estate by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America and named among the Lawdragon 500 Dealmakers in America.

Mr Polevoy graduated from Colgate University cum laude and University of Pennsylvania Law School.
