Willibald Plesser has been a partner with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1987 and works in the Vienna office. He is a member of the corporate practice group and specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, energy law, PPP projects and investments in eastern Europe. He has also been instrumental in building up the firm's office in Bratislava and is the firm's co-head for the CEE/CIS region.
Willibald was born in Haide, Austria, in 1955. He completed his legal and philosophical education at the University of Vienna, from where he holds a Doctor of Laws (Dr iur) degree and a Master of Philosophy in English and History (Mag phil). He is active in the International Bar Association, including its section on energy and resources law, and is a lecturer and the author of various publications on CEE topics. He was admitted to the Austrian Bar in 1986.
Willibald joined the firm in 1981. He speaks German and English.
