Mr Peck practises in the San Francisco and New York offices of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. His practice encompasses corporate, securities, finance and banking law, focusing especially upon financial institutions' mergers, acquisitions and regulation. Mr Peck is head of Pillsbury's financial institutions industry team and he has served as a member of the firm's managing board and as managing partner-finance and chair of the firm's finance committee.
Major transactions handled by Mr Peck include representation of Bank of America in its acquisition of Continental Bank Corporation, Chicago and its disposition of some US$8.5 billion in branches, assets and deposit liabilities after its merger with Security Pacific National Bank; representation of BNP Paribas and BancWest Corporation in their US$1.2 billion acquisition of Community First Bankshares Inc; their US$2.4 billion acquisition of United California Bank and in the US$1 billion merger of Bank of the West and First Hawaiian Inc. Mr Peck also advised Chevron Corporation in its merger with Texaco Inc, a US$36 billion transaction, and Pacific Telesis Group in its US$17 billion merger with SBC Communications Inc.
Mr Peck is admitted to practise in California, New York and the District of Columbia and is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law and Stanford University.
