Femi graduated with a LLB honours degree in 1981 and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1982. His main practice areas are banking and finance, mergers and acquisition, project finance, capital markets, corporate finance and restructuring.
Femi has advised on many banking, securitisation and loan syndication transactions. He recently co-led (with one of his partners) the team that advised a syndicate of 8 Nigerian banks on a two-tranche facility of N82.5 billion and US$100 milllion (approximately US$650 million) advanced to Emerging Markets Telecommunications Services Limited; the largest syndication by Nigerian banks in recent times.
He led the team that advised BNP Paribas SA in connection with a US$25 million term loan facility advanced to Dangote Industries Limited and its subsidiary, Dangote Oil and Gas Company Limited; and a US$30 million uncommitted short term transactional secured trade finance facility to Acacia Trading SA.
His other banking transactions include Citibank Nigeria's US$18 million bilateral term loan facility advanced to American International School, Lagos to finance its expansion programme including the construction of high school facilities offering high school diploma and international baccalaureate diploma education. Other clients include the Notore Chemical Industries Limited, and Nahco Aviance Plc.
He frequently delivers papers and gives presentations on subjects in his core practice areas. His hobbies are reading, driving, tennis and travel. He is married; and blessed with a daughter and two sons.

Femi has led many mergers and acquisition transactions including First Bank of Nigeria Plc's proposed acquisition of Oceanic Bank International Plc in the ongoing industry wide recapitalisation exercise in the Nigerian banking sector, Katoen Natie NV's acquisition of Cocoawarehousing Zaanstad BV and Unicontrol Commodity Antillen NV, as well as their subsidiaries in 11 countries.
He led the team that advised Nigerian Telecommunications Plc and Mobile Telecommunication of Nigeria Limited in connection with the proposed privatisation of the companies through a share or core asset sale to one or more strategic investors. His other mergers and acquisition transactions include Synovate Holdings Limited UK's, acquisition of the Steadman Group with presence in 8 countries, including Nigeria.
In recognition of his dynamism, precision and attention to detail, Femi has been called upon, in various advisory capacities, to assist different tiers of government in Nigeria, and many multinationals, on economic liberalisation and reform. He was recently appointed as chairman of a committee set up by the Federal Ministry of Finance to design a Code of Governance/Ethics for Capital Markets Regulators.
