Sid frequently writes and speaks on topics of corporate governance, director and officer liability, negotiated acquisitions and legal opinions. His professional activities include membership of the Atlanta and the American Bar Associations, and the State Bar of Georgia. He is a former chairman of the corporate and banking law section of the State Bar of Georgia, and was co-chair of the committee of the corporate and banking law section that developed the report on legal opinions to third parties in corporate transactions and the accompanying interpretive standards. Mr Nurkin also served for six years as a member of the committee on corporate laws of the business law section of the American Bar Association, which is the committee that wrote the Revised Model Business Corporation Act and subsequent modifications of that model act.
He received his LLB and his BSEE from Duke University, where he is an emeritus member of the board of visitors of the School of Law.
