Norbert Nolte has been a partner in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 2001 and works in the firm's Cologne office. He is the co-head of the firm's global telecommunications, media and technology sector group. He specialises in IT and telecoms outsourcing, contractual and regulatory matters of telecommunications and data protection. He has advised TMT clients on the commercial aspects of acquisitions and joint ventures.
Norbert represents national and international telecom operators as well as media and IT companies in administrative and constitutional law procedures in front of regulatory authorities, German and EU courts and the EU Commission.
Norbert completed his legal education at the University of Bonn where he took his first degree. He also spent some time at the University of Surrey in the UK. Norbert was employed as a foreign associate by Powell Goldstein Frazer & Murphy, Atlanta, working in the corporate technology department. He has published and spoken widely on the subject of IT and telecommunications. Norbert is ranked as a leading telecoms lawyer in Juve and Chambers.
Norbert joined the firm in 1995. He speaks German and English.
