Biography: Shipping & Maritime
Peter Gad Naschitz is senior partner of Naschitz, Brandes & Co, one of the Israel's largest and leading law firms, with 105 employees. After graduating (cum laude) from Tel Aviv University Law School, (LLB, LLM) he founded his own law firm in 1957, which merged in 1981 with the law practice of Hanina Brandes, to form Naschitz, Brandes & Co.Beside his law practice, Mr Naschitz is a respected lecturer on commercial insurance and maritime law at Tel Aviv, Bar Ilan and Jerusalem Universities, as well as at foreign universities, seminars and conventions. His specialisation includes insurance, transport, maritime and banking law, as well as a general litigation practice.
Naschitz Brandes have been repeatedly chosen as leaders in litigation. Mr Naschitz was termed by Chambers Global as top lawyer in his profession.
In addition to the insurance, banking and litigation practice, Naschitz Brandes is a leading firm in technology, biotechnology, securities work, venture capitals, communications and intellectual property.
Mr Naschitz is honorary consul general of Iceland in Israel, dean of the Israel Consular Corps, former president of the International Federation of Consular Corps and Associations, president of the Israel section of AIDA – the International Association of Insurance Law and member of the presidential council of AIDA, honorary president of the world AIDA, president of the Israel Maritime Law Association, former president of the Tel Aviv Rotary Club, member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Southwestern Institute of Arbitrators, the Israel Bar and the International Bar Association. Mr Naschitz is the chairman of the Arthur Rubinstein Music Society Association.
Naschitz is married and has two children.
