Biography: Product Liability Defence

Stephen G Morrison is a leading trial lawyer of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, which has offices throughout the eastern United States. A member of the firm's seven-person executive committee, Mr Morrison focuses on class actions, mass torts and serious individual injury cases and helps to manage a national and international products liability practice focusing on the automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, medical device, and chemical industries within a firm of more than 400 lawyers. He has served as lead counsel in more than 20 states, tried over 240 cases to jury verdict, and argued over 60 appeals before state and federal courts including before the US Supreme Court. He is experienced in international chamber of commerce arbitrations and has tried cases to conclusion in five countries outside the US. As a former general counsel of a New York Stock Exchange company doing business in 37 countries, he is familiar with cross-border technology transfers and intellectual property protection disputes. He studied business at the University of Michigan and Harvard.

Mr Morrison is a past president of the Defense Research Institute and Lawyers for Civil Justice, and a past chairman of the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates. He is regularly recognised by peers and clients in 'Best Lawyers' lists and publications for his experience, creativity, results and professionalism.
