Thomas Müller-Bonanni has been a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 2003 and works in our Düsseldorf office. He is a member of our employment, pensions and benefits (EPB) practice group and specialises in all aspects of employment law, including pensions, with a special focus on share schemes.
Thomas has recently advised WestLB on their privatisation, Degussa on the sale of Polymer Latex and its proposed sale of Infracor, E.ON on the sale of Viterra Energy Services, O2 on a multinational IT outsourcing, Hitachi on the acquisition of the core business of the insolvent Babcock Borsig group, Haim Saban on the acquisition of the insolvent KirchMedia group, Karstadt in major litigation on works constitution questions (involving 60,000 employees and 220 works councils) before Germany's Federal Labour Court, QVC on the introduction of group-wide pension and incentive schemes, and Warburg Pincus on establishing a complex company pension scheme for its German subsidiary.
Thomas was born in 1968. He studied law at the universities of Cologne, Germany, Geneva and Lausanne, both in Switzerland. He earned a master of laws (LLM) degree from New York University and a PhD degree from the University of Cologne.
Thomas joined the firm in 1998. He speaks German, English and French.
