Biography: Franchise

Ms Mazero is practice leader of Haynes and Boone's franchise and distribution group and restaurant and food service industries group. She is currently a member of the ABA Forum on Franchising, Women's Franchise and Distribution Forum and Women's Foodservice Forum; the International Franchise Association (IFA); the ABA International Law Section and the International Bar Association's Section on Business Law.

She is also on the board of directors of Promise House (2000 to present) and chair of the board development committee, served as editorial adviser on Franchising For Dummies (2001) and its update (2006) and currently serves as managing editor of "Franchising - the World View" for Franchise UPDATE magazine. Ms Mazero also serves on the advisory board for Nina McLemore Inc.

Ms Mazero was named among "20 to Watch" in 2007 by Franchise Times and was the 2006 recipient of the IFA's Bonny LeVine Award for leadership in franchising. She was highlighted in Chambers USA as one of the nation's leading franchise attorneys for 2007. She was also recognised as the Outstanding Board Member for Promise House in 2006; a Texas Super Lawyer for 2003-2007; one of the Top 50 Female Super Lawyers by Texas Monthly for 2003; one of the best lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine for 2001 to 2005 and 2007; and one of the top 100 franchise lawyers by Franchise Times in 2004 and 2006-2007. She was the recipient of the IFA's WFC Crystal Compass in 2003.

She continues to be listed in the The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward/White) and has a rating of "AV" (highest ratings in professional competence and ethical integrity) by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

Ms Mazero obtained her JD from St Mary's University Law School, Texas, in 1979 and is admitted to practise in Texas (1982) and Pennsylvania (1979).
