Rogelio Maciel was a founding partner of the firm and is also the head of its aviation department. Mr Maciel received an LLB at the University of Córdoba School of Law and he was, for many years, a legal counsel of the Civil Aviation Administration, the Airports Board, the Ministry of Aeronautics and the Commission for Investigation of Civil Aviation Accidents.
Mr Maciel was also a member of the Drafting Committee of the Argentine Aviation Code and a member of Argentine delegations to the International Civil Aviation Organisation. He was a legal adviser to foreign companies in the privatisation of the National Telephone Company in 1990 and of the Argentine airports in 1997.
Rogelio Maciel is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association, the International Bar Association (Committee on Aviation Law) and also a member of the Argentine, Brazilian and Ibero-American Institutes of Air Law and Space. He is author of the Argentine chapters in Security Interest in Aircraft and Engines (Kluwer, 1988), Aircraft Finance (Sweet & Maxwell, 1991), Aircraft Liens & Detention Rights (Sweet & Maxwell, 1998), Getting the Deal Through: Air Transport 2006, Aircraft Repossessions and Enforcements Practical Aspects (Kluwer, 2008) and of articles in Air & Space Law (Kluwer) and other aviation publications. He is a speaker at aviation conferences and seminars.
Mr Maciel is a colonel (retired) of the Argentine Air Force Legal Corps and a private pilot. He speaks Spanish and English.
