Gary has served as lead counsel in numerous class actions in state and federal courts throughout the country, and has played a key role in coordinating the defence of these cases. He has argued successfully against class certification in many of these cases, at both the trial and appellate levels. He has also tried class actions to favourable jury verdicts.
Gary is a member of the American Bar Association, the Product Liability Advisory Council, the Defense Research Institute, The Missouri Bar and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers. He is a fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America. Gary has been a guest speaker at legal education seminars on complex litigation and litigation coordination issues. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - Columbia School of law in 1976, where he was an editor of the Missouri Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif.
