Biography: Capital Markets

Pedro Lanna Ribeiro is partner at Barbosa Müssnich & Aragão Advogados and his principal areas of practice are capital markets, banking and debt restructuring. He regularly advises on domestic and international capital markets transactions representing issuers and underwriters, debt refinancing, corporate finance, project finance, private equity, corporate and securities law, mutual funds regulations and securitisation. Transactions within the past two years include, among other relevant deals, a large number of IPOs by Brazilian companies and high-profile debt restructurings.

Mr Lanna Ribeiro is professor of capital markets at the State University of Rio de Janeiro Law School. He is also professor of commercial law at the Law School of the Courts of Rio de Janeiro State.

Mr Lanna Ribeiro has delivered a wide variety of lectures and papers at conferences and seminars. He graduated from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1993) and earned a Master of Laws degree at Georgetown University School of Law, Washington DC (1996), receiving the Deans Certificate. Mr Lanna Ribeiro is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasília chapters. He is also a member of the arbitration committee of the Brazilian Association of Financial Market Institutions.

Mr Lanna Ribeiro was admitted to the Brazilian Bar Association in 1993. He was a member of Pinheiro Neto Advogados (1990 to 1995) and an associate at Clifford Chance, New York (1996 to 1999). Mr Lanna Ribeiro joined Barbosa Müssnich & Aragão in 1999, becoming the partner responsible for the capital markets and banking areas in 2001.
