Biography: Commercial Arbitration

Kevin Kim is the founder and head of Bae, Kim & Lee LLC's international arbitration and litigation practice group, a recognised leader in dispute resolution in Korea and abroad. He has recently been appointed as a court member at the LCIA, an alternative court member at the ICA of the ICC and a publication committee chairman of the IPBA. He is also a senior adviser and arbitrator of Korea Commercial Arbitration Board, vice president of Korean Council for International Arbitration, and arbitrator of Korea Sports Arbitration Committee and Internet Address Dispute Resolution Committee.

Kevin has acted as counsel in over 100 commercial arbitral proceedings in Asia, Europe and the US under the rules of all major international arbitral institutions including, among others, the ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, SIAC, JCAA, and KCAB, in particular cross-border matters. He also has acted as chairman or arbitrator in numerous domestic and international arbitration proceedings in Korea.

He received his legal education at Seoul National University Law School and Harvard Law School (LLM). Kevin is a professor of Law at Seoul National University Law School in Seoul, Korea and the author of a number of articles and publication on litigation, international arbitration practice. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences in the fields of litigation and arbitration. Notably, he is in the "45 under 45 in International Arbitration 2006" and is also listed as a leading litigator in Korea at Asia-Pacific Legal 500 (2005-2008) and in The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers (2006-2008).

He is a member of the Korean and Seoul Bar Associations and New York Bar Association, and speaks native Korean and English, Japanese (conversational) and German (reads only).
