Biography: Competition
As a partner in the antitrust practice of Howrey's Brussels office, Julian Joshua focuses on international criminal and contentious antitrust investigations, follow-on civil litigation, and European and global competition issues. The leader on the European side of Howrey's dedicated transatlantic cartel team (TACT), he specialises in the strategic response to investigations by multiple enforcement authorities and the coordination of global antitrust litigation. He currently represents large multinational corporate clients in both worldwide and European cartel investigations. Besides acting in contentious matters, he offers counsel at boardroom level on the corporate governance and risk management implications of involvement in potential antitrust violations. Widely recognised as a leading authority on international cartel enforcement, Mr Joshua was a European Commission official for 27 years and led many major cartel investigations before returning to private practice in November 2000.
Mr Joshua is a member of the ABA Section of Antitrust Leadership (member of ABA International Cartels Task Force) and is aN honorary visiting professor to the City University in London. He is also widely published in leading antitrust journals in Europe and the United States and is a regular speaker on both sides of the Atlantic on cartel matters.
