Commercial Litigation

Biography: Commercial Litigation

Adam Johnson has a broad dispute-resolution practice and has acted in connection with many large-scale commercial cases, including recently AWG's high-profile fraud claim arising from its listed takeover of Morrison plc, AWG v Morrison & Another, one of The Lawyer magazine's top 10 trials for 2006. The case settled on the eve of an anticipated nine-month trial (judgment on a preliminary point is at [2006] 1 WLR 1163 (CA)).

Adam's practice has particular emphasis on the following areas: cross-border disputes and international law, including asset tracing and injunctions, claims involving states and state entities, jurisdiction and choice of law issues, international sanctions and international judicial assistance (in particular letters of request). Arbitration, including acting both in arbitrations and in relation to connected litigation (for example, as regards stays of proceedings and the enforcement of arbitration awards). Banking and financial services, in particular in relation to cross-border banking and securities litigation.

He is a qualified solicitor advocate and one of the members of the firm's advocacy unit.
