Mr Malik qualified LLB in 1982 from Hull University and was admitted to practise as a barrister at the Inns of Court (member of Lincoln's Inn) before moving to Oman in 1986. He is involved in international transactions involving a diverse range of clients, and projects. He specialises in all commercial and corporate matters, oil and gas projects, banking, project finance, mergers and acquisition, privatisations in the power and infrastructure sectors, telecommunications and dealings with the capital market authority. He has, in effect, been involved in most of the major projects in Oman during the last 25 years.
Mr Malik regularly advises clients on various forms of oil and gas related transaction, including but not limited to the grant of concessions, operating agreements and on the acquisition of oil and gas assets in Oman. Mr Malik's experience includes acting for the government of Oman establishing and financing the Sohar Oil Refinery Project and a Polypropylene Plant at Sohar; advising Petroleum Development Oman on the transfer of Block 6 Oman to Occidental; Mr Malik has acted as legal counsel to the successful bidders for the Rusayl Power Project, the Barka Phase - II Power and Desalination Project, Al Kamil Power Co and to the lenders to Barka Power and Desalination project, the Sohar power project. Mr Malik has acted as local counsel to the Sohar Aluminium Smelter Co LLC and to the Oman Petrochemicals Industries LLC.

Since his arrival in Oman in 1986, Mansoor has advised private, public and governmental organisations on a wide variety of legal issues, including advising on a number of the Sultanate's major infrastructure projects. Mansoor was actively involved in drafting legislation during the commencement phase of the Sultanate's privatisation process.
In the power and water desalination sector, Mansoor has acted as counsel to the promoters of, or lenders to, a number projects including the Manah project, which was the first privately developed power project in Oman, followed by the Al Kamil, Barka, and Sohar projects, extending to the Barka 3 and Sohar 2 Projects, which achieved financial close in 2010.
Mansoor is currently advising the shortlisted bidders for the 1500 MW Sur project. Mansoor, in association with international legal counsel advised the government on privatisation of Seeb and Salalah Airports in 2002. In 2005, Mansoor advised a consortium led by Qtel in its successful bid for the second mobile telecommunications licence issued in Oman, and also advised Sohar Aluminum in relation to the establishment of the first aluminium smelter project in Oman. In 2009 Mansoor advised a consortium of lenders (led by BankMuscat) in relation to the financing of a deep-water jetty in the Sohar Industrial Port Area.
