Biography: Capital Markets

Stephan Hutter joined Shearman & Sterling LLP in 1986 and became a partner in 1995. Mr Hutter is now the managing partner of the Frankfurt office of Shearman & Sterling LLP and specialises in international capital markets and cross-border bank financing transactions. Mr Hutter has extensive experience in international equity and debt offerings of German, Austrian and Swiss companies, including public offerings and private placements of securities in the US.

Mr Hutter received his legal education in Austria (University of Vienna Law School, Dr jur 1984) and in the US (University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) Law School, LLM 1986, Fulbright Scholar). He has been a member of the New York Bar since 1987.

Mr Hutter is author and co-author of numerous publications on US and international securities laws.
