Biography: Oil and Gas

Michael A Hurst is a partner and manager of the commercial practice section in the Calgary office of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP. Mike has acted on joint ventures, financings and sale transactions relating to domestic and foreign pipelines and oil sands projects. His advice has been sought with respect to oil and gas upstream, midstream and pipeline acquisitions, the structuring of greenfield projects, financing transactions and product sales arrangements.

In addition, Mike has worked on infrastructure projects in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, the Canadian Arctic and offshore areas and South America.

In addition to his recognition in Who's Who Legal: Canada 2010 and The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers, Mike is also recommended by a number of domestic and international legal directories, including Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, The Best Lawyers in Canada and by PLC Which Lawyer?.

He is a member various associations including the Canadian Bar Association, Calgary Bar Association, The Law Society of Alberta and is past director of the Canadian Petroleum Law Foundation.
