Biography: Mergers and Acquisitions

Sidney Horn, one of the firm's senior partners, specialises in commercial, corporate and securities law, advising large domestic and international corporations on complex questions concerning finance, mergers and acquisitions, debt restructurings and corporate governance. He has developed an expertise in complex transactions requiring creative solutions.

Mr Horn has been named by Lexpert as one of "Canada's Top 30 Corporate Dealmakers" in 2002; he is included in the 2006 Lexpert Guide to Canada's 100 Most Creative Lawyer; in the Lexpert Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Corporate Lawyers in Canada for M&A; in the 2008 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, and in Chambers Global Guide to the World's Leading Lawyers for Business 2008.

He has an MBA degree from Columbia University, and BCL and LLB degrees from McGill University. He is a member of the Quebec Bar (1978) and the Alberta Bar (1982), and serves as a governor of the Quebec Bar Foundation and as a director of private and publicly traded corporations.
