Kris F Heinzelman is the head of the Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP corporate department. Kris's practice consists primarily of domestic and international corporate finance transactions, including public and private offerings of debt and equity securities. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to representing investment banking firms, which have included Credit Suisse, among others. Kris has also represented a number of corporate clients of Cravath, including Airgas, Cummins, Naspers and Olin.

Kris routinely represents underwriters in IPOs, including most recently, the IPOs for EnergySolutions, Deltek, North American Energy Partners, Alon USA Energy, Lazard Ltd, Overnite Corporation, CVG, Weight Watchers, Global Power Equipment Group, Integrated Defense Technology and AMIS Holdings, and in Rule 144A/Reg S high-yield offerings, including most recently, Freescale Semiconductor, PanAmSat, Borden Chemical, AmeriPath, Burns Philp, Jostens, Jacuzzi, Pathmark and CITGO. He also has extensive experience representing issuers in their initial public offerings and was the lead lawyer for Cravath in IPOs for Planet Hollywood, Steelcase Inc, MIH Limited and Open TV.

Kris was cited as being one of the country's pre-eminent practitioners in the securities arena in Chambers USA 2007 - America's Leading Lawyers for Business. In addition, Cravath received the publication's highest ranking for its securities practice. He was also recently named by Lawdragon magazine as a leading lawyer and leading dealmaker in America in 2007.

Kris was born in Monroe, Wisconsin. He received an AB magna cum laude and an MA from Brown University in 1973, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received a JD from Yale Law School in 1976. Kris joined Cravath in 1976 and became a partner in 1983. He has served as the corporate recruiting partner and the corporate managing partner of Cravath.
