Mr Griffin is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the first vice president of the Advocates' Society.
Mr Griffin's areas of practice are commercial, securities, shareholder insolvency/restructuring, professional negligence, class proceedings and competition litigation. Mr Griffin has been active in all manners of commercial, public market, securities regulations, regulatory, take-over, plan of arrangement litigation, securities regulatory investigations, securities and other class actions, restructuring and reorganisation litigation, government litigation, shareholder dispute litigation, advising boards of directors in restructuring and related matters and competition law proceedings.
Mr Griffin is recognised in the 2011 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada as one of the top litigation lawyers in Canada in the areas of corporate commercial litigation, securities litigation, class action litigation, insolvency and director and officer liability. He was also recognised in the 2008 Lexpert 100 Most Creative Lawyers in Canada.
Mr Griffin articled and practised as an associate and then partner at McCarthy Tétrault from 1980 to 1992 prior to forming what is now Lenczner Slaght Royce Smith Griffin LLP in October of 1992.
