Paul R Grand is a principal of the firm of Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, Anello & Bohrer, PC, a 55-lawyer firm specialising in white-collar criminal defence and civil litigation. After receiving a BA from Harvard College and an LLB from the Columbia University School of Law, where he was a James Kent scholar and an editor of the Law Review, Mr Grand served as an assistant US attorney for the Southern District of New York and became chief of its securities frauds unit.

Mr Grand received the New York Council of Defense Lawyers' Norman Ostrow Award in 1993 for significant contribution to the defence function. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, New York Magazine - The New York Area's Best Lawyers, New York Super Lawyers - Manhattan Edition. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the New York Council of Defense Lawyers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a former director of the Federal Bar Council and of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers.

Mr Grand recently defended Timothy Rigas, the former chief financial officer of Adelphia Communications Corporation, and currently represents the former president of Qwest Communications International in the action SEC v Nacchio, et al. He also represents officers of public and private companies in litigation and in investigation by agencies of the United States or the New York State.

Mr Grand is married to Anne Morgenthau Grand, a psychologist.
