Biography: Arbitration
Ian Glick is a Queen's Counsel and arbitrator practising at One Essex Court. He has many years' experience of litigating complex commercial disputes and of acting as an arbitrator in ICC, LCIA and ad hoc arbitrations. He has also determined disputes acting as an expert.Matters in which he has recently acted as an arbitrator include disputes under product development contracts, gas sales agreements, price adjustment clauses, long-term commodity supply contracts, international sales contracts and joint-venture agreements.
He also appeared as counsel in the leading English arbitration case of Lesotho Highlands Development Authority v Impreglio SpA [2005] UKHL 43, concerning whether arbitrators exceeded their powers so as to cause a serious irregularity affecting their award.
Ian Glick was formerly standing junior counsel to the Department of Trade and Industry in export credit cases, and is a former chairman of the Commercial Bar Association. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
