Bruce Garrow is a partner in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, where he practises exclusively in the area of aviation and product liability law. He is recognised as a leading practitioner of aviation law in Canada.

As the head of BLG's national aviation law practice group, Bruce acts for owners, operators and manufacturers of aircraft and aviation products, aircraft maintenance and ground-handling service providers, and their insurers.

Bruce is a respected trial and appellate counsel with over 25 years' experience before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Federal Court of Canada. He successfully defended Korean Air before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario in McDonald v Korean Air, the leading Canadian case relating to DVT (deep-vein thrombosis). He appeared as counsel at the Commission of Inquiry into Aviation Safety in Canada and has acted as counsel in air crash cases throughout Canada. Bruce is also experienced in ADR techniques.

In 1995, the Law Society of Upper Canada certified Bruce as a specialist in civil litigation. Bruce is a graduate of McGill Law School and received his Master of Laws from McGill's Institute of Air and Space Law. He has also completed the Harvard Law School's programmes in negotiation and mediation. Bruce is the author of articles on substantive and procedural aviation law, and a past lecturer on aviation law at the University of Toronto, Professional Pilot and Aviation Management Program. He is a member of the executive of the Canadian Bar Association - National Air Law Section.
