Mr Fredman has structured and organised private investment partnerships and offshore funds across a variety of strategies, including general equity, arbitrage, global investment, private equity, distressed company, small cap and funds of funds, and has provided counsel on issues relating to securities and partnership law and the development of new products. He has structured and organised investment advisers and broker-dealers, handled registration of commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors, and provided ongoing advice to investment advisers on securities law issues. He has also represented clients in connection with acquisitions and sales of investment management firms.
Mr Fredman is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center where he was an editor of Law and Policy in International Business, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia University. He is a past member of the committee on partnership of the American Bar Association and the committee on art law of the New York City Bar Association.
