Biography: Insurance & Reinsurance
Eithne FitzGerald is head of corporate finance and a partner in A&L Goodbody's corporate department, with a specialist interest in non-contentious and regulatory matters relating to insurers. She also advises on corporate finance matters, M&A, takeovers, flotations, equity capital markets, private equity, MBOs, insurance and general corporate law. She advises leading Irish and international public and private companies on the legal aspects of their corporate affairs.Eithne advises a number of leading insurance companies active in Irish and international markets. Significant recent transactions include advising: Hibernian/Aviva plc on its €1.3 billion bancassurance life and pensions joint venture with AIB plc and the acquisition of Ark Life; BUPA on the sale of BUPA Ireland to Quinn Group; Standard Life on its de-mutualisation and ￂﾣ4.9 billion flotation; and BUPA on the disposal of its 56 per cent interest in Blackrock Hospital.
