Biography: Competition

Deborah Feinstein is a partner in Arnold & Porter's Washington, DC, office. She is a leading antitrust lawyer, focusing on merger and acquisition matters before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Department of Justice. She has been named to Global Competition Review's international list of 'Top 100 Women in Antitrust,' Super Lawyer's 'Top 50 Women in Washington, DC,' and National Law Journal's list of 'Washington's Most Influential Women Lawyers'. Practical Law Company, Chambers USA, and Best Lawyers in America also rank her for antitrust law. Ms Feinstein previously worked in the FTC's Bureau of Competition and for then commissioner Dennis Yao, a highly regarded economist. She earned her JD from Harvard Law School and AB from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ms Feinstein has advised clients on hundreds of transactions involving virtually all sectors of the economy and has special expertise in retail, food, consumer products, health care, chemicals, and automotive parts. She is a lead member of the team representing General Electric Company (GE) and NBC Universal in connection with the Comcast-NBCU joint venture, valued at US$30 billion. She has represented GE in many transactions over the past 20 years, including the sale of GE's security business to UTC. Along with a co-counsel, she also represented PepsiCo, Inc before the Federal Trade Commission in its US$7.8 billion acquisition of its two leading bottlers. Ms Feinstein also represents AMC Theatres in various transactions, including its recent acquisition of most of the assets of Kerasotes Showplace Theatres. More recently, she represented Air Products in its proposed acquisition of Airgas.
