Elizabeth Espin Stern, partner in Baker & McKenzie's business immigration practice group, represents domestic and international corporate clients in a wide range of immigration matters. Ms Stern, who speaks fluent Spanish, was selected by Washingtonian magazine in December 2007 as one of Washington's 30 best lawyers. She regularly speaks and writes about immigration and often contributes to major news agencies.

Ms Stern has established one of the leading business immigration practices in the country, representing major commercial entities in a variety of industry sectors, including financial services, information technology, telecommunications, multimedia and manufacturing. Ms Stern's practice offers the full breadth of business immigration solutions, focusing on issues that are unique to dynamic commercial entities with a global work force. Within Baker & McKenzie's global benefits and employment arena, Ms Stern's practice forms part of the firm's suite of global human resource disciplines, including immigration, tax, employment, benefits, corporate formation and policy.

Ms Stern has testified before Congress on US immigration reform affecting the global business community. She works closely with the federal agencies and the members and committees of Congress involved in the development of immigration laws. Similarly, Ms Stern has a network of contacts with the international embassies and immigration and labour ministries that govern the immigration laws of the European Union, the Pacific Rim, Latin America, Canada, Russia and Eastern Europe. Ms Stern received her BA and JD from the University of Virginia, and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers, DC, Virginia and American Bar Associations.
