Biography • Mergers and Acquisitions

Axel Epe has been a partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1981 and works in the firm's Düsseldorf office. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions and corporate law. Since 2006 he has also been spending some of his time in the Munich office.

Axel is co-author on corporate compliance in one of the most renowned German textbooks (Hauschka, Corporate Compliance) and co-editor of the legal journal CCZ Corporate Compliance Zeitschrift, Zeitschrift der Haftungsvermeidung im Unternehmen, Beck-Verlag (first published in January 2008).

Axel completed his legal education at the universities of Tübingen and Munich and holds the degree of a doctor of law (Dr iur) from the University of Tübingen. From 2000 until 2004 he was co-head of the firm's corporate practice.
