He is regularly sought after as a chairman, sole arbitrator, party-appointed arbitrator and counsel in both international commercial arbitration (eg, ICC, Vienna International Arbitral Centre) and domestic ad hoc panels.
Christian Dorda acts as a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, belongs to the Board of Trustees of the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria and is permanent legal counsel to the French-Austrian Chamber of Commerce and chairman emeritus of the M&A Commission of the UIA. He is a member of the editorial board of "the European Lawyer".
Christian Dorda graduated from the University of Vienna in 1971, was admitted to the Austrian Bar in 1976 and established his own law firm in the same year. He is the author of numerous articles in professional magazines and the co-author of several books, including Handbuch Mergers & Acquisitions (Vienna 2007); Praxishandbuch Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit (Vienna 2007); and Directors' Liability: a Worldwide Review (London 2006). He also regularly speaks at seminars and conferences and is fluent in German, English and French.
