Biography: Patents

Richard L DeLucia is a partner of Kenyon & Kenyon and chair of the firm's life sciences group. He has over 20 years of patent trial experience. He has been chief trial counsel in over 100 cases, and has prevailed on behalf of his clients in many well-known jury and non-jury patent trials. The National Law Journal cited his jury verdict over Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in a jury trial involving printing press technology, where success was valued at approximately US$900 million, as one of the year's largest jury verdicts. Mr DeLucia also counsels clients on issues relating to licensing and the validity, enforceability, and infringement of patents, trademarks and copyrights. Among the notable clients which he has represented are Amersham, BASF Corporation, Bio-Technology General, Enzo Life Sciences, Sloan Kettering and Sony Corporation of America. Mr DeLucia is past president of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association. He has served as the chairman of the litigation committee of the New Jersey Intellectual Property Law Association.
