Biography: Aviation
Thad T Dameris's clients include airlines, fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, airframe and component manufacturers. He has vast experience in multi-party litigation centring on international disputes, with particular expertise in dealing with issues that arise in suits involving foreign parties, including jurisdiction of United States courts, foreign sovereign immunity, forum non conveniens, service of process and discovery abroad, and multi-district litigation. He has taught trial advocacy at the National Trial Academy at Stanford Law School.Mr Dameris has been elected by his peers as an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is listed in Chambers USA with National Tier 1 ranking in aviation litigation, The Best Lawyers in America, Texas Super Lawyers in Texas Monthly Magazine, Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Aviation Lawyers, International Who's Who of Business Lawyers, International Who's Who of Commercial Litigators and Legal Media Group's Expert Guide to Aviation Lawyers.
Mr Dameris is the past chair of the American Bar Association Committee on Aviation and Space Law, past chair of the Aviation Section of the International Association of Defense Counsel, co-chair of the Manufacturing Division of the Forum on Air and Space Law and vice chair of the American Bar Association Committee on Aviation Litigation. He is a life-fellow of the Texas and the Houston Bar Foundations. Mr Dameris graduated from Southern Methodist University and earned his law degree at the University of Texas School of Law, graduating with honours.
