Anthony Colletta specialises in commercial real estate matters, private equity fund formation and transactional work, financings, joint ventures and general corporate matters. His extensive transactional experience includes the purchase, development and disposition of real estate assets and companies throughout the world; the structuring of senior and mezzanine financings, both secured and unsecured; and the formation of joint ventures.

Mr Colletta has represented the Goldman Sachs-sponsored Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds since their inception in 1991, including in their fund-raising activities; acquisitions and work-outs of distressed loans/real estate assets, and of public/private real estate companies; and in US$50 billion plus of mortgage and mezzanine financings. He also advises Aetos Capital, Broadreach Capital Partners and Marathon Real Estate Fund on a variety of matters.

Mr Colletta's recent work includes: the formation of a US$2 billion real estate fund to invest in developing markets and another US$5 billion fund to invest in real estate globally; US$12.5 billion plus in proposed and completed acquisitions in the hotel, resort and casino sector, including mergers with Equity Inns and American Casino & Entertainment Properties and the acquisition of the La Costa Resort; US$14 billion plus of senior, mezzanine and preferred equity financings; acquisitions and sales by private equity clients of several office properties, including the John Hancock Center in Chicago and 660 Madison Avenue, 275 Fifth Avenue and 417 Fifth Avenue in New York: a US$2.2 billion commercial paper funded credit facility for Whitehall 2007; and an oil and gas development joint venture.
