David graduated from Southampton University with an LLB (Hons) and the College of Law, joining Beaumont and Son in 1978 qualifying as a Solicitor in 1980. He was made a partner in 1986, working in the aviation department.
David opened the firm's office in Rio de Janeiro in 1988 and was the firm's resident partner for two-and-a-half years until returning to London. In 2002 he relocated to the Singapore office since where he has been engaged in a variety of aviation related matters in the region. He speaks French and Portuguese.
David's main areas of practice are all aspects of aviation liability work. He has extensive experience of dealing with matters in the UK, France and Francophone countries, South America, India, European and Scandinavian countries, the Asia-Pacific region, and the USA.
David has been involved in a number of high profile matters including: Garuda Indonesia accident at Yogyakarta (2007); Air Koryo crash at Chonnam-Ri, North Korea (2005); Air Niugini mercury contamination (2005); Lion Air accident at Solo City (2004); TransAsia runway collision with truck in Tainan (2003); China Airlines accident at Penghu Islands, Taiwan (2002); Air Philippines accident in Davao, Philippines (2000); Crossair accident in Niederhasli, Switzerland (2000); Swissair accident in Nova Scotia, Canada (1998); Randolph Fields v Watts and others; Wood v Perfection Travel Ltd; Swiss Bank Corporation v Brinks-Mat; Gulf War reparations for British Airways and insurers.
