Biography: Mining
Carlos Americo Ferraz e Castro was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 26 June 1945.
He studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro Law School (LLB, 1969); Stock Market Legislation, 1969; Legal Status of Foreign Capital in Brazil (1970); Corporate and Tax Law Course, Getúlio Vargas Foundation (1975); Academy of American and International Law at the Center for International & Comparative Law of the Southwestern Legal Foundation, Dallas, Texas (1977).
At Veirano Advogados he specialises in mining, oil and gas. He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association (chapter of the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul), International Bar Association, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the American Chamber of Commerce.
He is fluent in Portuguese and English.
